Well, fear is on of the three that keeps us in a negative mind set.  I was reading a chapter from "Healing a Addictive Mind".....and there was a section that talks about guilt, shame and fear.  Unfortunately, these three seem to run together.  When we have guilt about something we have done.  We inturn feel ashamed of whatever the situation was and we turn around in fear.  Avoiding our life and our true potential.  The things that our God of our understand has in store for us.

As a friend reminded there is but on thing in life.  And, that is Love.  We truly dont have anything more than that.  And, does fear and love exist together.   I think not.  So, as you find the love for yourself through your higher power.  The fear of living soon will become easier to accept.  Until you can walk through life in the matter God intented; which is love.  God Bless all of you.  Keep Clean and Keep Smiling.

Starting with our higher powers and working through our fears and issues.  That have lead us to fear is one of the keys to true recovery.  And, learning not to separate ourselves from others.  But, learn of the similaries and things we have in common it helps to let go of that fear.  Because, we no longer want to isolate ourselves from others.  We want to share and learn from others as it should be.  In A Course in Miracles it states:  "If I dont heal you dont heal and if you dont heal I dont heal."  That simple means to me, that if I find a way to walk thru fear in my life that is similar to something in yours.  I should be willing to share that and help you way thru your issue as well.   This spiritual journey is a continuous circle.  Where we walk a path until we get through our fears and illusions to see our truth.  This can mean constantly doing the same thing until we learn of our higher power and what is best for our highest good.  God Bless.  Keep Clean and Keep Smiling.

Now that is so true. "Step by Step". I can relate with that.

The way I deal with fear is exactly that way; by applying the Steps. Not that I'm never in the grip of fear. I still do sometimes, being an addict, and 'fear' being my defect of character. But when my fear becomes unbearable, and I cannot live in that state of mind anymore, I eventually have to fall back to the program and admit my powerlessness over my fears and that if I tried to gain control of my fear, my mental, emotional and behavioral states becomes completely unmanageable. Then I open my mind to a Power greater than my fears that could relieve me of my fear and restore me to faith. Then I turn my fear over to this Power, thereby in action, demonstrating that I don't have the power over my fear and only a Power greater than my fear can help me. As a result, I move on, inspite of the fear sometimes, trusting that my Higher Power is in charge, not me or my fear. My strength and the ability to act in faith arise out of this process...

When I have thus surrendered myself, my fears and the situation around which my fears are concerned to my Higher Power, it is not that all my fears always turn unreal and nothing happens as I feared it would, even though most of the times, that is so. Even if my worst fears come true as sometimes they do, I have experienced a calm and courage not my own in facing it all, as I don't feel alone, all by myself, facing it. I am Higher Powered as a result of turning it over. I come to acceptance of all the consequences after I surrender to my Higher Power...

Mostly, I have felt that it is my fear about the fear that torments and cripples me, not the fear itself...
