newcomer step 4

hi there been sorting thorugh alot of the confusion though my life lately by my second attempted suicide was nov the 8th my have a learned alot since then .I work daily on my Resentment work & what my possitive things are & my nagitve things are joronaling ,praying, calling woman .I had to get rid of a trap the trick was not to be afraid as you are not alone anymore. I need to reslizse that in oder to recovery from  healing in this break-up in which my man did to me and the way he left me was harsh very mean anyway, I needed time in the program time off work to get my self back together .Once I get to type this and write it all down on paper I start to feel better. I really wanted to prevent my self from being hurt this time .I really wanted to think he was the right one for me with my understanding I came to belive that he was serouis after looking up  place's up for rent with me, but anyway  to not cling on to and dewell on it but to be able to just let it all out and go must be done. It's mostly the shame and anger in thinking and doing such a thing but to come back and learn and listen to see what I can do differntly is the key to my recovey.Thats my thought on step 4  let me know what you think thanks love ya all thanks for helping me keep clean!

hi sheryl

glad to hear from you . and i'm sorry to hear you've been having such a rough time lately.

i came across this the other day and it's stuck in my mind...

i'd like t share it with you now.

*Possessiveness*

Treat all things as if they were loaned to you without any ownership~whether body or soul sense or strength external goods or honours house or hall ... everything. Meister Eckhart.

Just cos we can't afford jewels or antiques doesn't mean we aren't possessive. Mine is the dearest word & concept of some of us who barely get by from paycheque to paycheque: my car, my house, my savings account, my children, my husband even my addiction.

Yet ownership particularly of other people is really a delusion of control. The mistaken notion that someone is ours breeds anxiety, a misplaced sense of responsibility & an exagerrated fear of loss. At most we can only be stewards of our relationships let alone of our belongings.

Something wonderful happens as we practice thinking of the people we love as being on loan. Instead of insisting that they must be with us always, we can enjoy the pleasure of their company today. We can open our hands & give them & us the space to discover the joy of living freely.

Today I will make a start at letting go.

Its something I had to learn over and over and its amazing the peace that comes when you realize that some come into your life for a short time and go just when it seems like you need them most but if our faith is in action we will see that our HP always provides our needs some other way.

hugs and love peggy

(((((Sheryl))))) Thank you for sharing your step work and your pain with us, Sheryl. It's very hard, sometimes, to share all that, even in NA. But once I'm willing to open my mind and reach out, as you did here, the healing that I need sets into motion...

All the best. Keep the faith. Continue the process of looking for a Sponsor and the step work with your temporary one. It works. Some members say "no" when approached for sponsorship, not because they reject us, but because they are not able to commit, not in a position to be fair with us in Sponsorship, or just because they already have too many sponsees and they just can't take one more...

So don't get disheartened. Keep lookin' until you find one... Also look up at the Earthgroup site. Their there is a whole list of members, both men and women, who are willing to sponsor, if approached. The link is www.earthgroupna.org

Grateful that I have MIP, my homegroup family here to take care of me when my Sponsor is not available to me.
