New to message board have some questions

I have been to several meetings. I have two sons who are in recovery.

At one point I found a box with several small syringes empty. 3 of the larger ones had a clear liquid in them.

What would the clear liquid have been.

Thanks for the help

....did you attend NA meetings as an addict,ot a parent of addict?
.........if it's the latter, you'd best contact Naranon,,,they are support for those close with addicts.  We here in NA generally refer to such as 'normies'.

...Clear Liquid?... to guess would be rather presumptuous, sorry.   confuse

Wow that's a tough position for a parent to be in.

Any drug (much less one shot intravenously) is serious business. I'm sure you could get it tested. But there's nothing you can 'do' with the results. It's most likely, at least one of your sons has used in the past. Would they stop if confronted, most likely NOT.

Hello and Welcome to MIP!!    a very helpful program for parents ,friends relatives of addicts.......................here's a link where you can find a  meeting in Arizona near you.Be among folks just like you going through similar issues.Based on the 12 STEP program...I can truly identify as my son also struggled with Heroin abuse for 7 years now 29 and clean for 4 years...It is truly a valuable program......

I guess I should have explained.....I am a parent and have been to some local NA meetings. He has been through in house program almost a year ago. He seems to be ok, but recently had some major girlfriend breakup issues. When he gets upset or depressed he sleeps. Even before his addiction he did the sleeping thing. He said he is tired of his mother and I talking about him. (he can her us in his room). He recently just lost his job also. I want to help, but not enable.
He has an older brother that is an addict and got him started on Heroin. The older one is in jail and is a program and due to be released in August. I am ready to pack up, but a sign in the door, moved....no forwarding address.

It's not easy being a parent, is it? When I was going thru a similar family situation, we put up with all sorts of behavior which was, in retrospect, sign of serious problems. Clearly I was enabling her, despite my best efforts. Now that things are out in the open, I would drawl a tougher line. Much tougher. I hope you can as well....
