I am a member who believes in the homegroup style of recovery. I have member actively going to the group that participants don't call it there home group but other groups. A member wants to change the group's format. I don't have a problem with this, however, she consulted other members that are not group members and felt it should go to a vote and they would be able to vote. I didn't agree and motioned to table until next month. I have my own experience with who can vote on matters affecting a group, how long you have to participate to have voting rights and the like. I just want help in explaining how homegroups operate and maybe setting up bylaws agreed to by the groups participants. The problem is not everyone that attends this meeting regularly consider themselves homegroup members. And my experience with this that only a homegroup member can hold a trusted servant position in the group and have voting rights on the groups decision making issues. Please help by sharing your E.S.H.
They should actively say they are a member of the group to be able to vote at your business meeting. You can't vote at more than one homegroup . Homegroups are based on group conscience. I suggest they join the group and don't be a rabble rouser .

The way I understand it is that you are a HG member when you say you are, and have a right to vote if you show up. Evaluating and possibly changing a groups format is definitely business of the group. Getting people involved and asking them to express their ideas increases inclusion.
LOL, I'm in two HG's...and at times I have to be GSR for both groups as well. (And the Treasurer too!!)...... Though I only vote once on Area motions. I do vote in both meetings on motions within the group.
I've never heard of by laws within a group. Many just default to Roberts rule's.
