The home that we currently live in is a mobile home across the front yard from our landlady.
The landlady had her daughter, her daughter's boyfriend and her grandson move out to the property three months ago. They moved into the landlady's RV. We offered to move into the RV and give the kids the trailer, especially with an eight year old- but the landlady declined. It seems they are building their own home out here and will have it ready in a few months.
Since they've been here, we've learned a few things. This is their third time living out here and the first two times mom (our landlady) ran them off at gunpoint. The daughter has steadfastly refused to speak to either my wife or I and ignores us when we say 'hello'. Their eight year old is not allowed to speak to us. The boyfriend has offered to take me out into the woods and kill me. We really haven't done anything - it's just the way these folks are. Ten days ago or so, we received an eviction notice because the kids haven't even started on the house they planned on building and the RV won't work through the winter. The RV isn't available for us any longer because the landlady signed it over to her daughter who won't let us stay there.
We've been scrambling and it looks like we've found a place. It's not solid at the moment but it looks good. This trailer had no refrigerator when we moved in and fortunately, we had one in storage. The place we're moving to has one though and we were thinking about putting it in the garage for overflow (positive thinking we'll have that much food!). Instead, after talking it over with the wife, we called the landlady and offered it to the kids as a gift seeing as they won't have one.
