Violating Sixth Tradition?

Hi friends,

We have a long tradition in the two Areas I've served of distributing IPs to recovery homes and treatment centers. I assume that by so doing, we have not "lent the N.A. name" to these facilities.

Is there any reason why distributing an Area Newsletter to these facilities would violate the Sixth Tradition? Or do you think we've been violating it already by distributing the IPs?

Thanks!

Lee

.good question.......me's no expert in such matters, usually let these questions be answered by the long-term members,,,,,,,I would think that since recovery houses are usually 'addicts helping addicts',,, that tradition 5 would be served well--'carry the message'.

...I'd think there'd be a difference between a facility having some literature on-hand,,,,and them publicly claiming affiliation to NA

I think giving them the Ip's is probably Ok , but the newsletter may not be .You should ask at your area business meeting or the group meeting what the thoughts are . Group conscience is the thing in NA . Violating a tradition may not be taken to good . Ask the Higher Power .
