 ...when we enter the rooms of NA for the first time,,things can be overwhelming--the mind can scramble with many new thoughts of recovery,,,VERY different than what occupied our minds before!!..in my area,,it's usually at meetings end,,that the newcomer is asked to read the following message,,,for me ,it always helps me set my focus to what's important...just for today!

Tell yourself: 

Just for today my thoughts will be on my recovery, living and enjoying life 

without the use of drugs. 

Just for today I will have faith in someone in NA who believes in me 

and wants to help me in my recovery. 

Just for today I will have a program. I will try to follow it to the best of my ability. 

Just for today, through NA, I will try to get a better perspective on my life. 

Just for today I will be unafraid, my thoughts will be on my new associations, 

people who are not using and who have found a new way of life. 

So long as I follow that way, I have nothing to fear.

 

.....if you're new to NA,,,DO allow yourself the relief of getting to a meeting,,,

,,,but if you're not ready or able to get to a meeting,,join-in to these pages,,,share your story,,,,

....there's lots of good folk who come by these pages throughout the day,,

...there's nothing better than the therapeutic value of 'one addict helping another'!!wink

The Just For Today reading has helped many of us . Reading the daily meditations starts my day off great each day .

smile   Thanks 9 years did not come easy , the wonderful people I met in recovery are the one's I thank.39 year's took it's toll ,but I sure like being clean .   smile
