Hi everyone I'm extremely new to all this. I have 39 days in 33 of which was spent in a rehab in Philadelphia. I don't know how all this message board stuff works that's for sure but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Most of the reason I signed on to this is because there are no NA meetings where I live so I'm going to have to settle with going to AA meetings instead for the time being. Anyway thanks for reading.

Hi Carnie and welcome to MIP.
There are some meetings about ten miles or so from you.
I don't know what your transportation situation is , but ten miles is not to far to go if you are serious about recovery.
Here is a list of some. Going to NA.org and following the links to "find a meeting" will reveal more.
I don't know where exactly your town is but it seems close to Hazelton which is a major recovery center.

Getting to a meeting can take alot of courage, it did for me, but it really is the way.

Thanks for the list. My biggest prob is I don't always have the money for gas to go up to Hazleton but I'm gonna try to get to atleast 1 actual NA meeting a week and 4 or 5 AA meetings a week for a lil while. Probably see which groups I like best and make one my home group. They had daily meetings every night at the rehab I was at so I'm kinda use to them. I'm sure whichever meetings I go to they will be just as welcoming.

Welcome. There were very few NA meetings in my area when I got clean years ago. I went to a lot of AA meetings. It is important to try to get to NA meetings too, if you can, because NA addresses addiction to all mind/mood altering drugs, whereas AA focuses on alcohol.
