eBook taken from my diary before and after entering a Salvation Army rehab center.

Here are some exerpts from my eBook Rehabilitatin'  We may begin to comprehend addiction by looking at it as though it were a game. Lets call it the Lie Till You Drop game. The name sounds innocent but dont let that fool you. It is a brutal and deadly game that rarely has any survivors. It is built on the premise of illusion and vain, empty promises. I began to play my game the first time that I told myself, This is the lowest Ill ever let myself go. The next thing I remember saying to myself was if I ever lose my job due to coke, then I know its time to quit using. The cleverly concealed voice inside of me was the sound of denial as it made a new promise. It said if I ever sell any of my possessions for coke then without a doubt it is time to stop using.  Please check out the free preview http://www.smashwords.com/extreader/read/294983/1/rehabilitatin

Hello Eric and Welcome!

I was part of an H&I group that used to carry the Narcotics Anonymous message of recovery into the Salvation Army facilities up North before we moved to Florida. As you are aware it is a mixed group and WE spoke with folks from varied backround sharing the  Clarity Statement of NA (which I didn't care for) in order to not have the folks get a different message that NA was bringing. Many of the folks would actually attend our NA meetings and others would make AA etc..I am an addict named Mike and I live the NA way of life.WE are responsible for our own recoveries and seek to find what works for us. You may also be aware that we do not care what or how much you used, who your contacts were, how much or how little you have only what your problem is and how WE can help! There are many differnt roads to recovery and WE all find the avenue that works for us.Im not sure why you are here at an NA forum and I was not able to find your story but I wish you well in your journey of recovery..Others may be on to share with you and see if there is some way WE can help you in your journey..Narcotics Anonymous offers addicts a program of recovery that is more than just life without drugs, not only is this life better than the hell we lived but it is better than any life WE have ever known......WE have found a way out(NA) and we see it works for others, each day more is revealed!!             Peace Eric!!
