So I was sitting in a low turn out meeting on Christmas, thinking how my head hurt and maybe I should just get up and leave. I haven't done that yet in my 6 years of attending. Then a young girl shared and it was like electricity shocked me from head to toe.
Please say a prayer for my young friend who lost a sponsee to the disease. The sponsee had been in and out of the rooms but had stayed in touch with her sponsor. She was really struggling, and went to rehab and came out. The addict asked her to be her sponsor again. She did take her back...after consulting with her own sponsor. Then she passed on the eve of Christmas Eve. All I can think is that she tried. She was there for her friend/sponsee. Imagine how she'd feel if the addict passed without a sponsor? She doesn't have to live with that guilt. She did all she can do.
This damn disease is deadly. My heart goes out to everyone involved.
Indeed the disease of addiction is deadly. Sadly have seen far too many permanently fall over the years, even some with many years Clean suiciding yet not using. Who knows why some are unwilling to fully Surrender and find their path in Recovery. I thank my Higher Power whom I choose to call God I was sick and tired enough to surrender all reservations. There but by the Grace of God through the Power of NA go I.

1 year 6 months and 6 days ago I lost my 19 year old precious baby boy to Opiates methadone percocet vicodin and Zanex amongst a few other drugs in his system! I lost it and then I stayed extreamly wasted and numb for 6 months after his death. I then get a phone call my Dad has passed it was expected Cancer. Another excuse, then in April I am half dead I don't know how I was staying alive, my Best Friends Husband calls me and tells me to sit down, Yes she also dies from Opiates zanex overdose. The very next day my Sister walks in on me and my neck and arms were covered with blood and she calls an ambulance! THANK GOD!!11 mo. 13 days later I have my natural energy back and I take 3 x daily 800 mg. ibuprophen from having 4 back surgeries and and 9 others also alot of other pain but it works!! Ibuprophen works Thanks for letting me share!!
