Just checkin in.......Minimal N/A here in Japan unfortunately. Mostly in Tokyo and Osaka, and I am far away from either of those places. I'm about an hour south of Hiroshima. Anywa-would be cool to hear from you guys---I feel alone out here a lot. Not using----and it's tough to do that for the most part anyway here in Japan, which is a good thing for guys like me. We've got A.A. on our military base--great small group, but for some significant boundary reasons, it's tough for me to attend. So you guys are pretty much all I got.
Thanks John for this site---I'll be sending along a donation soon! Also gonna try and Skype soon...that would help a lot!
Remember AA is the same 12 step program we all work it the same, drugs alcohol whatever the program is in the steps where you find and have a spiritual experience because of workin the steps.
But i know them AA'rs dont want us druggies sharring sometimes, so may need to listen i bet you find some druggies inside thoughs room you can get to know and talk with, they are there.....

Ummmmm no. the steps in the two fellowships are similar but definitely not the same. AA talks about one specific substance....alcohol. NA talks about the disease of addiction. Very different. Also the way we work them is different... AA uses the big book and NA uses the 12 step workbook. The two approaches are vastly different IMHO. I was thrown out of an AA meeting for talking about drugs. I remember it well. The fellowships are not interchangeable and that is a good thing for both of them. I understand where Big V is coming from...If there were no NA meetings in my area I would go to AA and just shut up and listen. Any recovery is better than no recovery. But as one who never liked alochol and so never drank much I can't relate at aa meetings, and i found out that they sure as hell didn't want to relate to me. I'm glad you found us. Y'know starting a group is easier than you might think. peace.
