So out of the blue my vision went from 20/20 to 20/30.
Went to see my eye doctor, and ended up with many more questions then answers. I am diabetic, so he's been watching me closely anyway. But I feel so let down, cause I constantly monitor myself, am very active, and felt I was years away from...problems.
Well now I am on 60 mg of steroids, and full of questions. And I am scared. I don't know what they are going to do to me, and he 'mentioned' I might be on them for a year! They wake me up at night, and I repeat the serenity prayer over and over. After all, there's not much I can fix in the middle of the night is there?
So now I get to go back to the basics. Step 2 and Step 3 are there to help me. Nothing like a challenge to kick me in the ass and get me working, again, more, forever.
Oh well I just had to share. It is funny/ironic that my little friend is sick, losing her right eye, and on heavy steroids. I can relate!!
Steroids? Powerful stuff, but if you have faith in your doctor and he says you need them, then I guess you gotta 'surrender to a power greater than yourself' and follow his instructions. My vision has been lousy since I was about 12. Been wearing glasses ever since Hope your vision clears and you stay healthy. peace.
Dave sorry about your issues with medications, they always keep an eye on diabetics eyes.I'm type two diabetic also lots of other problems. Pray daily, keep working my steps ,hope for the best.Being clean is better than using.
Thanks for the kind words. Next time I see the opthomogolist I am going to take a note pad and make him tell me exactly what he's thinking, and how to spell each condition he's bantering around in his head!
As for today, all I can do is try to recover physically mentally and spiritually. And let me HP take care of the future
