My puppy is really sick.....

Out of nowhere my adorable cocker has developed a malignant tumor in her face. The vets have never seen anything like it. They told me that my job is to make her as comfortable as possible.

Needless to say we are devastated. She is my first dog and I had no idea how much love we would develope for her.  She's a rescue dog who has gone to hundreds of meetings with me, and expresses love for everyone she meets. She's the best trained most loving animal I've ever met. My ex was kind enough to let me have her when the divorce went thru, and she has filled my life with hope and compassion. Now I have to help her live out her time with dignity.....Not sure where I am going with this (as usual!!haha) but I just felt like sharing. If there is someone in your life you have taken for granted, give them a big hug and show them how you really feel for them.

My sponsor reminds me that she too has a higher power who will care for her.

Sorry to hear that DAVE.When we were up North we were faced with having to put our cat down after hundreds of dollars of hip surgery and very expensive vet care. The whole family stayed in the room as we watched them put the needle in to put OREO out of his pain.I can identify with your situation.Peace.........

I've had my dog foe eleven years. He's been growing tumors on his body, one large one on his face that he injures every day. I feel your pain. But one thing I've learned from the animal kingdom is how different animals deal with losses. Dolphins will beach themselves in some cases when part of their pod is beached. Elephants grieve openly as well. Watching how different animals grieve their family has helped me deal with my own.

She is very lucky to have such a loving owner who cares about her so much. I will keep you both in my prayers.
