When i first got clean and needed a sponser,i became blessed,as i listened to theses speakers speak,one guy caught my ear/eye and after th meetibg,,,HE Walked up to me and said"My vibe tells me you and i have a connection....He was huge,A Vietnam vet and an addict for years,he invited me to coffee,we sat and talked for many hours...He was quite the teacher and detrimenal in getting me/helping in my cleanliness....I felt blessed BIG TIME! So HE found me!...THAT Show how it works

Hey Jay,I also am a believer in "listening' for a sponsor.My 1st spnsor,in '84 was from our parent fellowship who just kinda picked me up.He was a mid 80 year old man that I met at work and asked if I needed help.He died about 4 years later and I asked my present sponsor if he would sponsor me.Ironically enough thru the years WE came to find that we have similar faith beliefs and also are married,have children and have been divorced numerous times etc.My grandsponsor also shares the same identifications,It is not necessary to have this but it has definitely worked best for me and also for my sponsor/grandsponsor. Yup how it works,ain't it trip!!

I am fairly new, although I have been to recovery houses before. They taught me the AA way. I do not have a sponser yet. Is anyone from Buffalo/Amherst NY?
My first sponsor was wonderful, but unfortunally she relapsed and I had to get another sponsor and by the grace of god, I have the best sponsor in the world, she is not only my sponsor she is my best friend as well, God put us to cross paths for some reason. We have an amazing friendship and sponsor & sponsee relationship. She brings out the best of me, we are just alike and we relate to each other. I help her as well as she helps me I couldnt ask for a better sponsor and I dont want to ever have any one else. Its good idea to have someone that you connect with, I did with both of them, but more so with my sponsor now.
