I AM TRULY BLESSED I no longer look at New years Eve as 'AMATEURS NIGHT" For this addict, IT DIDNT TAKE ANY SPECIAL DAY TO GET RIPPED,IT WAS PART OF LIFE. Each year my wife and I lay in bed late, watching the HoneyMooners Marathon of which I have seen every episode(including the lost ones) over and over and the blessing is I still laugh like I saw them for the first time. Sometimes even my wife looks at me like im crazy(well thats an understatement,at times I am crazy, but getting better :) ) 2 of God's greatest gifts to us laughter and tears and believe me I sometimes laugh until I cry ,now how blessed is that......If you are new or just coming around or just coming back TODAY can be that celebration of life with an admission ,surrender and a willingness to do some work and follow some suggestions.........Ralphie boy would say''How sweet it is!!!!! We are all newcomers each day, today can make the difference !!!! Peace

Our purpose is to remain clean, just for today, and to carry the message of recovery.
I was always an antisocial addict, never wanted to goto parties. (get a bag, lock the door, leave me alone) Get wasted january 1st sometimes but not on newyears because that's when all the cops are especially looking for people who had to much of some substance. Even now as I type this, reaching out anonymously over the internet for fellowship/support from other addicts.... I set in my room alone with the death metal cranked up, so the addicts who know me will leave me alone.
Wow Mark,,, 1000's of miles apart but I sure can identify; that was me on the last days of my addiction..... maybe the isolation and wanting to be alone actually saved my life !
Could have had my ass on a sling many times, but God was there...
Man I sure hear you,,, recoverin hugs !
