My name is Rick and I am an addict. My drug of choice is meth which I have been injecting almost daily for 10 years. It has destroyed my life.
Even though I am grateful the situation is not worse, if you compare my life the day before I used meth for the first time to today, the difference is shocking.
I don't want to use anymore.
I was clean and sober in NA/AA for 12 years from 1989 to 2001. I relapsed on meth.
The first thing I need is a sponsor. I am in the LA area. I am a 52 year old gay man.
Is there anyone in the LA area that could be at least a temporary sponsor?

Hey Rick and welcome back. The first step is to go to a meeting. I understand how embarrasing it can be to walk back into the rooms after being clean for a number of years. It would be a shame not to. If you hit some of the meetings you used to go to you may even find people who will remember you. In any event there is no doubt in my mind that you will be welcomed back. This shit is life or death. choose life. Go to a meeting. If your nervous about going alone, call the helpline and ask for someone to take you. peace.
