Frustrated!!

I'm having trouble Not wanting pills when I get upset or angry...at the moment its with my husband and im just trying my best to get my mind off of it bc a lot of people have been irritating me today and i don't really have anyone else to talk to! Trying to stay strong and use my tools! Wish I could be like my husband and over it in 10 min but my feelings usually linger...

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

I used drugs to deal with life, but the drugs stopped working. When I put the drugs down, I had to learn to live all over again--how to deal with my negative emotions, such as anger, fear, sadness, and jealousy. I learned how to do this by going to meetings and working the step with a sponsor. Dealing with life on life's terms is often not easy, but I can do it today as long as I don't use drugs. Hang in there--it works if you work it!

sometimes I think this disease is a living being.
It feels like it has an intellegence and it uses that intellegence to make us miserable.
Reading your post I see someone who is used to changing her feelings with drugs so it is natural to want to continue dealing with life that way.
But I also see the disease creating your discomfort just to get you to use.
Do you have phone numbers? It's time like these when can't seem to get ourselves right that talking to someone on the phone can be a life saver.
If your like me then you can't do this on your own.
Network with people in the program. Get numbers and call them.
it could save your life.

Yes usually when others and different things start getting on our last nerves there is most always something going on inside us.Im sure your angry(why does it have to be me like this) resentful(he can get over it,why can't I)lonely/isolated(i have no one to talk with)frustrated/worn out/fearful(what am I gonnna do rest of my life,projection etc)We know,we have also lived all theses feelings.As the drugs diminish(and that needs to happen first and foremost)you will be facing "life on life's terms in a lucid(though fragile state)Each situation you approach by not using will reenforce staying clean and moving toward a "new way of life".Can you locate a meeting place?Can you see if you can help out at a shelter or food pantry or church or rollerskating rink(something to get the constant thoughts of using out of your head?)Addiction will wait patiently for any opening,at any time,whether your clean for a day or 40 years.The differece can be knowing how to stay free ,a day at a time,with vigilance and work(our suggestions of NA program).Its not a life sentence its a sentence of a new way of life, one better than you have ever known.I will keep you in prayer and hope to see you back here letting us know you "DID" FIND A MEETING and you are going to 'work"...In support...
