Finding my way back

I had 2 years of clean time and i relapsed recently. I don't know how to go back to a meeting and admit my mistake. I want to get clean and stay clean, but I am unsure of myself. i remember how I walked into the door previously and i don't want to have to reach that bottom again. I feal like i am keeping a dirty little secret and I don't know what to do. If anyone has any suggestions please e-mail me davidmagee1969@yahoo.com. I would appreciate any input.

How to go back to a meeting is simple, go to a meeting. I can't save my face and my ass at the same time. My chances of staying Clean are in direct proportion to my willingness and honesty. We have the disease of addiction, it wants us confused and staying away from meetings. Go to a meeting. Go to 90 meetings in 90 days. The solution hasn't changed.

Keep coming back!

Like Mike said, just go to a meeting. And not just one, but many. You're not going to get any better if you don't go.

Seeing members come back after a relapse is an amazing thing for me. It's not just good for yourself to go back, but you're a blessing to others who can learn by your actions... why going back out isn't all that great and how one struggles to make it back.

You're not alone - one of my dear friends had an awful time trying to come back after a relapse - we live in a small town and she wanted to "save face," too but in all honesty - everyone knows what she'd been up to and everyone welcomed her back with open arms. Since her relapse she's found some INCREDIBLE recovery!

Get your butt to a meeting! :) You're worth it and your group is worth it - let them love you, care for you, and do what they do the best - carry the message!

the only thing holding you back is you.
I have first hand experience on coming back from relapse. Many of us do.
A good first step is to call your sponsor or someone else in the program and tell them what happened.
Let them make a suggestion.
coming back from relapse is nothing to be ashamed of.
Not coming back in could be the biggest mistake of your life.

I had 2 years and 9 months of clean time in my twenties. It took me a long time to come back to my meetings because I was so embarassed. There is nothing to be embarassed about. Call your sponsor right away and go back to the meetings as soon as possible. Good Luck !!

i think it is in our nature that we think we can do it again and when we do it the addiction tells us not to do the things we need to do to get back to sanity you have had clean time you know what to do stop the stinkin thinkin and get to a meeting the natural progression of our disease is to unforgiving to let it go for long get to a meeting and work the steps

For the newcomer like myself (just shy of 60 days clean), I gather much of my strength and hope from the experiences of those such as yourself. Someone who had solid sobriety going and relapsed. Someone who has the courage to to walk back into the room, tell people that things still haven't changed out there, and that it's not the way you want to live your life. So while you may be saving your own ass, you are saving mine too. Go to a meeting, share your ESH. It will come back to you in spades. Peace.

You need to be honest, open minded, and willing.

Go in sit your but down put up your hand, get a white key tag. Rat your(addicted)self out, share what happened.

This is life or death. Which would you prefer?
