There are thousands of these old abandoned state mental hospitals sitting dormant around the country. Many of these hospitals were self contained cities with their own power plants, water supply, farms, manufacturing and so on. They were often built during the depression using WPA funds and some were designed by famous architects. This is a fascinating chapter in American History. Cool hobby you got there.

Thanks Gary. No I do not restore old buildings. I take pictures of them. I love old, old abandoned and decaying buildings. This building was on a sprawling 216 acre campus that was once a state hospital. The hospital closed in the early 80s and the state still doesn't know what to do with it. I trespassed to get those shots....not cool at all. I was alone the first time I went and the place was eerily quiet and chilling. Lots of history in those buildings, lots of old human experience inside of those walls
