Living life in a new and improved way

I am new at working a program for real.  I have a sponsor and am beginning step work.  Something I haven't tried before.  Goal:  To never repeat my past errors in judgement related to drugs.  I am having surgery tomorrow and my challenge will be to use my pain meds as prescribed.

Many have found giving their meds to someone else to dispense to them as directed helpful. My disease of addiction is a tricky sneaky sucker. Whispers things like if one takes the pain away as the label says, hey two or three will take it away even better, oh that buzz you're getting, don't worry about it, it's for the pain not the buzz. NOT!

Welcome, great suggestion, let someone dispense your meds if your leary ,but also could be beginning of your disciplinary route you will need to undertake to really make ur program work for you. nice to have a choice,,Being in the grip didn't allow us that huh?.Good luck ,keep coming back we need you!!!smile

I am 2 days post-op.  I find that I worry too much.  As it stands I am in so much pain from surgery that I have to use my pain meds.  I like what someone said about beginning a disciplined routine.  I am hopeful.  I can't make live meetings right now (I can't even get dressed), I like it that I can be a part of recovery from home. smile
