My God Clarissa,
Havin been a pill user too, I can really identify with doin em to overcome shyness.....

Havin said that, the Basic Text states clearly that we need to be careful when under medication. We need to inform the medics about our allergy. Then aain, we need to surround ourselves with NA members in these times, who care for our recovery.

The fundamental thing is that our bodies and our addictive personalities will not know the difference tween medication prescribed by a doctor or drugs we prescribe for ourselves.

Recovery is my responsibility and in kivin life on life's terms, there will always be those moments when we want to go and use rather than face feelings.
Experience has shown that the ure to use will pass and each time I did not use, my confidence in this Program increased....

May God Keep you Blessed with Clean and Serene times....

Welcome to MIP....as  addicts ,im sure we all have struggled in these same areas,i know for me i lived in "the valley of the dolls for many years,,,,,,,barbituates and alcohol to get that buzz, beauties and the likes to get back up,,atarax ,muscle relaxers for fake muscle pain and on and on........We have a Pamphlet called 'In times of Illness' that is good information on how we as addicts tend to tell ourselves we have more pain then we can bear without medication.I am not a medical person and it may be necessary for medical help for you but the pamphlet can give you some insite....you can gooogle www.na.org and punch in the title to check it out..Glad you stopped in,there is hope and we are here for each other you can also read Information pamphlets on Who is an addict, what Na is all about or even better yet show up at a meeting near you..you can also google that on the same site.....Keep coming back okay!!!smilesmile

Welcome to this discussion board. Try getting to an NA meeting. You'll find people there who can relate to what you're going through and some experience, strength, and hope. I know you've got a lot of stress in your life, but drugs will not make things better, only worse.

Welcome!
You have found a wonderfully supportive and helpful website.
But we are still only a virtual support.
When all is said and done you need to connect with real people in your area.
At NA.org there are links to the helpline and meetings in your area.
You are shy, so why not call, and introduce yourself only by first name. Ask for a young mom to call you.
You are not alone. Many have come before you with similar fears and doubts.
You can get through this and live a healthy productive life for your children and yourself.
