Working the Twelve Steps of Narcotics Anonymous gives us a fresh start in life and some guidance for living in the world. But the steps are more than a fresh start. When we do our best to work the steps, we develop a relationship with our personal Higher Power.
In the Third Step, we decide to allow a loving God to influence our lives. Much of the courage, trust, and willingness we need to continue through the succeeding steps comes from this decision. In the Seventh Step, we go even further by asking The Eleventh Step is a way for us to improve the relationship. this Higher Power to change our lives.
Recovery is a process of growth and change in which our lives are renewed. The Twelve Steps are the roadmap, the specific directions we take in order to continue in recovery. But the support we need to proceed with each step comes from our faith in a Higher Power, the belief that all will be well. Faith gives us courage to act. Each step we work is supported by our relationship with a loving God.

Just for today: I will remember that the source of my courage and willingness is my relationship with my Higher Power.
Developing a relationship with a higher power has been one of the great gifts of the NA program. Before coming to NA, I had no connection to God or a higher power. Now, I do.

I agree! When I came to the rooms of NA I knew of God. I knew the concept I should say. I had NO faith. I found myself saying off the wall prayers .. "God please don't let me get caught before I at least get some" "God, if you don't let me get caught this time, I swear I'll never do it again" -- I'm sure you've said them too at one time or another. If I never found NA I I'd ever have the amazing relationship I have with God today..and for that I am truly greatful.
If I don't do my step work I go insane all over again, If I don't have a relationship with God I pick up......... This has been my experiace over the last 14yrs of trying to maintain my sobriety. Today I'm 2yrs clean, I'm working the steps and I have a loving God in my life to help me through the good times and the bad.......Thankyou NA for showing me the way....
Although the God of my understanding guides my life, living in the solution of Narcotics Anonymous and the spiritual principles, I have found a new and better way to live,Better than I have ever known!!The message is hope and the promise is freedom from active addiction.
