Wonderful Weekend and Very Clear

Hello my NA Family - thought I share some of my experiences with you - Last weekend I had the most restful, peaceful time with close friend and their kids.  First of all I was very skeptical about going camping - in the woods - in a tent by the lake - Ok - But I did it - wasn't to successful about overnight tenting - head issues with bears (lol) so about mid nite - headed for the house that was on the property - which was beautiful in its self.  I enjoyed the man made lake, the trees, fishing, playing football, freesibe throwing with the kids, laid on a hamic, got into a nice hot tub -I am sharing with you all - because finally I got to play - see I don't play well - but I gave myself permission and not only that I was able to do at my own pace - that was the safety in it all - I made a decision - I ask for help - and I trusted in my God - that it was truly ok to take my time with this - So he gave me loving people and children that I trust and love to help me - They didn't have a clue of what their role in this was - which made it more awesome - Fear did show up - but it helped me to trust - except for the overnight sleep in a tent - (wasn't ready for that one)..Just wanted to say Recovery works and with it I am able to walk thru day to day stuff - I am able to have trustworthy people in my life - I am able to make rational decisions regarding my life - I am able to take my WHOLE life and do what I TRULY want to do..TODAY I AM NOT IN THE GRIPS OF DEATH AND DEATH HAS NO HOLD ON ME - and for that I AM GRATEFUL

Congratulations Fiesty on the successful weekend, I think that deciding NOT to sleep where there may be bears was a very rational decsion. You took care of yourself, had a good time and didn't use! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing that Feisty! my wife and our family were avid(not don)campers early in our marriage.tented, roughing it,washing in the stream all for me ,wife hated it..kids alright.we graduated to a pop-up camper, then finally to a cabin(KOA) AND THEN MY WIFE SAID,"THATS GOOD"I need a hotel.prefreablly overlooking the ocean and hot sghowers,no bugs, dishes, tent zippers, snakes, ahh c'mon!!! It was definitely much different whie I was active then when after I surrendered.I also now love, condo's overlooking the ocean etc,,but still sit in a tree during bow season for deer and sometimes actually even take a shot..Recovery is such a blessing to live life lucid, aware and grateful!!  talk to you later....smile

Interesting story feisty,
more than just a playing in the woods.
You faced fear, and using the tools you have learned you came out on the other side stronger.
Very inspirational.
thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Thank you, that's a great share on Surrender! I can relate a lot with similar experiences...
