Well in a couple of days I'm off to make the trek to base camp of Mount Everest. I am doing this trek with my mom and I couldn't be more excited for it. I am hoping to find a closer connection to my higher power and find some peace within my soul. It will be the 1st anniversary of my friends death while I am away, so I am bringing his picture with me so I can find some peace from his death. This journey will take about 20 days and I'm scared to be away from the meetings for so long but I know I will taken good care of. I am growing faith that things will work out and that this journey will be a once in a life time trip. You know it amazes me that in a short 2 and a half years clean I have come so far. I've completed my first year of college, got engaged, and gained this wonderful relationship with my family. I am truly blessed.
I am also excited that I was accepted to do my second internship at an addiction treatment centre. My goal in life is to help others like me and now I am one step closer to achieving that.
Thats my little update, life rocks in recovery, and I will miss reading all your post when I am away, but like NA they will always be here when I return
I'll post my experience when I return so take care
Andrea V.

So cool Andrea! 'LOST DREAMS AWAKEN ,AND NEW POSSIBILITIES ARISE" one of my favorite writings from our literature.Long time ago I ordered Basic text on CD and play it when I'm tied up from reading. Its a different perspective,I hear things that I don;t remember reading and I read things that I don't remember hearing.Way cool.laying in a tent, listening to literature, feeling the presence of God, yikes Im trippin now:)..I am very happy that you are striving to reach closer to your HP.I also spend each day trying to improve my relationship and it seems that all else falls into place, not always smoothly ,cause this is "life" but much better when I get out of the way..Being greatful, counting our blessings ,keeps us humble and usable to our HP.Have a wonderful, exciting and safe experience. Can't wait to hear back. We'll definitely leave the light on.Go with God's grace.

Hi Andrea,, Gosh,, Everest and base camp,, fabulous. Being a mountaineer and trekker myself, I can actually feel your exitement.
Id say not to worry as there are NA meetings in Katmandu and other parts of Nepal.
Moreover, I live on the same continent and if you need to connect with another NA you could contact me on my mobile phone and my number is 09845181485. There are women here in recovery and I could connect you up with them.
All the best and remember that God, the Force that keeps us recovering addicts clean is always with us,,, the question is ,, are we with IT ?
