Social Security!

Only by the Grace and mercy of the God of my understanding have I been allowed to reach 62 years of age on this day March 25,2010.I now qualify for Social Security benefits that will allow me to be able,no matter what comes of jobs, health etc,to continue to support my family for the rest of my life(we'll see how viable this program stays, woe to my children)Anyway.for a guy who thought he wouldn't see 40.this is a miracle. My wife and I are off  on a bus trip for the day and then family time on the weekend!Man,when our literature talked about 'LOST DREAMS AWAKENING AND NEW POSSIBILITIES ARISING" in recovery,I thought ,yeah we'll see,but Lo and behold here they come!!Our hope shot comes from totally getting out of ourselves and turning our will and 'LIVES" (thats all of our lives, father, mother, daughter, son, friend, business person etc) over and stepping back and believing God can,We can't ,so we'll let Him!!Have a blessed and productive daysmile      jackie gleason would say"and away we go!!!

Congrats ole timer.
I'll be right behind you on the payout line come 2011.
Hey....we earned it.....now it's time to collect.
You youngins' don't let anyone BS you into thinking Social Security won't be there when you retire. You pay into it so make sure your reps know you expect to collect on it when the time comes.

Happy Birthday Mike.

Many things can happen and quite miraculously as long as we stay clean, go to meetings, get a sponsor, work the steps, stay close to our higher power and maybe even give back a little of what we get to others ( service), remain willing 24/7 to do whatever we need to do to remain clean and mature, it's real simple to do once we surrender to being addicts and there are no more reservations left, now getting to that point gets real F'n painful.

You know if you walked into a room fuill of people dying from cancer and asked them if they were willing to do all those things to stay alive you think they'd do it ? Uh huh DAMN STRAIGHT they would the same way some of us decide to do whatever it takes to stay alive and get better.

Yep we pay into a lot of programs most of the time other people get the benefits though LOL...glad your getting your's, enjoy !
