I played with a band at the Military Services club last nite.

Was a rocking show, had about 100 couples dance for about 4 hours to our music and appreciate us.
Then just after the show, I was paid my money, something I needed real urgent.

And to think that when I went to the venue at 7 pm, the scene was dull. No one at the venue yet, but surely would be filled up within the hour with drinking, celebrating people.
Being the lone no drinking non-using sober and clean person around in about 3000 people can be be scary and weird if not for support from NAs.

So I set up, went back to the car and sent texts to about a dozen NA members so as to not be overtaken by negativity. 

I got nearly immediate responses. But one particular message took my trip back to Higher Power. 

She had messaged
FAITH MAKES ALL THNGS POSSIBLE
HOPE MAKES ALL THINGS WORK
LOVE MAKES ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL !!

Then the Miracle unfolded, I enjoyed myself, found myself useful in sections other than the music and a great time was had by all.
The icing was calling my daughter on cell after Auld Lang Syne and having her hear the fireworks.

The vibes with the band was good too, and each time I felt they were being strange, I did not try and alter that by trying harder or withdrawing,,,I just let it be !

My only regret was the singer completely botched up the countdown, simply said happy new year without doing the countdown. In my book thats a bad call and I had to put in mental effort to let that go !

And on this day, I spent lot of qyuality time with my daughter and mom,,,

All in all, a great start to 2010, and I know I can sustain that through the NA 123 Step Tradition all through the year !
