Hello everyone! I'm new to the board so I thought I'd introduce myself to everyone who happens to see this post :) my name is Megan and while I've tried (and failed) to quit my addictions before, I'm making another go at it. Today is (yet another) day ONE of my recovery! I'm excited to talk with all of you and get to know you better... see you around!
Welcome megan i'm a retread too no big deal pick yourself up and grab ahold of this program with all you got get working on those steps and making meetings daily several times a day if you have the time.
Gods Grace we get this free gift of recovery,, after that, all we ned to do is maintain it on a daily basis. Just for today, my thoughts will be on my recovery, living and enjoying life without the use of drugs !

Hello, Megan! I am so glad that you are here! You are a miracle.
Many "revolving door" addicts do eventually stay clean. Sometimes a relapse is just part of the process of fully hitting bottom.
It's critical to remember, though, that nearly everyone in this program can tell you the story of at least one recovering addict who went back out and never made it back. I've been to far too many funerals to ever take this disease lightly.
You're off to a great start, Megan... keep coming back!

YES 1 day clean is HUGE!!! To me, it was the hardest, longest, and most painful. On these boards you will find story after story (or just plain talk) of people who will show you that the pain will subside and serenity is possible. HOPE. One day at a time Congratulations on ONE day clean!
THANK YOU everyone! What a nice warm welcome :) It is now day two and I feel great! Just making the decision sometimes takes part of the weight off... I was not (am not?) an everyday user so two days clean to me doesn't seem like a great accomplishment yet but you know what? It's been a better two days than it would have been if I had used! I look forward to staying clean and happy and celebrating the long-term accomplishments that i can FEEL are in my future! I'd say this time feels different to me, but don't they all? haha but maybe this time is different because I found all of you! Thanks again everyone and have a wonderful day :)
