I started a garden last week

it's Fall here and there are a few veggies that can be planted and harvested into the winter, I have fast growing lettuces a few varieties, carrots, radishes and swisschard planted.

The radishes came up first then the swiss chard, lettuce and carrots I should be harvesting in the next couple of months some nice fresh veggies. i turned the nice soft soil in my yard adding several bags of mulch, this is very cheap to do about $20 worth of mulch and $10 worth of seed.

& It keeps the mind working and the hands NOT idle :) Pretty kool Big V. When I had my house I preferred flowers...had hours upon hours of serene, quiet time. I miss that.
Im in an apartment though for the first time in 20 years, and no place for a garden:(

Gardening is what i grew up with my mom always had a huge garden year round but that was where i got disciplined often LOL pulling weeds I was cheap labor LOL. yeah i love being able to have a garden now, I lived in a small partment for 14 years with no yard I tried a garden once in 5 gallon buckets some stuff grew but most ended up getting mold on the roots and dying so i gave that up now i have stuff growning out front even in the planter area I think i have lettuce and swiss chard out there but it doesnt get enough sun due to the large tree in my yard but the seeds have sprouted.

I love gardening! My first inkling that I had a drug problem came when I realised that I no longer had a desire to play in my flower beds! Used to grow my own herbs... um, legal ones, I mean... don't miss growing the illegal stuff. I'd plant rows n rows of veggies... YUM! Hundreds of different flowers... so lovely...
