I do not know if any of you have ever heard of this, (it is still a new thing for me) but there is now a way that we can have meetings over the telephone. If you are like many folks, you have unlimited calling on your cell phone after 9 p.m., or at least you have several thousand minutes to blow in off peak calling times.
The telecom meeting allows us to share and hear our voices. For me that is a plus. I live in an area that has one meeting a week and I cannot always drive the 60+ miles to get to another meeting. I chose to live here so I am not complaining, I am just stating the facts.
That means that on occasion I do an online meeting or meet with whoever may be available to meet in town for coffee and an impromptu meeting. Now I have another option; the telecom meeting.
A friend of mine in another city where I attended meetings put me on to this new resource and he and I just started tonight. We are hoping that we can find a few others who would be willing to try this just to see if it will fly. If any of you are interested, feel free to let me know. As, I have stated, there is no cost and it will be a real meeting. It will be recovery related, so don't worry about anyone trying to sell you anything. We are just a couple of addicts seeking more unity. I hope a few of you will join us. Just let me know if you are interested.
Glad to hear others are getting into this, our group just started the same thing and got it all up and going a few days ago. It allows for twenty five people in the conference room. http://the12stepsgroup.org/ is where our telephone confernce bridge is being held! The site is like a facebook look and feel and allows addicts seeking recovery to sahre twenty four hours a day via online secure chat and wall to wall and so on :D

Is that " the bridge" meeting ? If it is , yes there are some very cool people there. More recovery than one might expect from an other than face to face .
