Hi! in the spirit of ARCNA (arizona regional...) i was thinking it would be cool for members to share experiences they have had at conventions. I am so grateful that I was involved in NA right away... participating in all the events was vital to me because I love people and I love to feel connected.... So.. One of my favorite things about conventions is that there is an entire hotel filled with addicts!! We own the place!! I love that...Anyone else??
Having done about 25 Convetions in three countries in two different continents, all I can say is Ive not had enough ! If I had my way, Id do at least three conventions annually,, however im content with at least once a year .
The next one could be in July. this is the UK Regional convetion, Ive been asked to be a speaker too. Ive been speaker at most Conventions I was in, but also very important for me was to play my sax in the entertainment sections !!
That said, Im hoping that Id be able to get to the World Convention in Barcelona in August ! The only issue is they do'nt want to crowd more than 5000 addicts into that space. They will shut out any addicts that are more than that number !! One report from the World Convention Corporation read that they did not want to "Americanize" this convention,,,,,,,you know,,,,Europe,, compact,, smaller sizes,,,etc.etc.etc.
Bloody ridiculous I say,,, but that's the reality of it !! Which means advance booking is a necessity,, perhaps they are already sold out by now !!!
