Hi Maureen, welcome to Miracles In Progress family.
When I was new to online recovery, I started by sharing with others here at message boards/forums such as this... I started reading what others have to share, taking to heart what might help me... I slowly started sharing about myself too, about my problems and situations, reaching out for help here by posting my situation/issue. Online fellowshipping has been a blessing for my recovery as I get so many responses to my call for help. In fact, many a times, these online members have rescued me from disastrous situations, by being here for me and with me, carrying me along.
Hope to hear more from you, Keep coming back, we all need each other.
I'm Tahir, an addict, and a Miracle-in-Progress

Hi Maureen,,my name is Raman and im an addict, clean and serene just for today in in NA worldwide.
Yes it works,if i work it,and i know that im worth it so i work it. . You know,, your name connects me to a memory of two decades ago. Her name was Maureen too. The scene is in Bangalore city India and Im in recovery after a string of bad experiences in using that lasted many years. I was a member of Loner Group NAs Meeting by Mail. There were no meetngs in the city and this was my main connection with recovery from drugs. We had no internet in the world then and it was snail mail i used to write letters to NAs all over the globe and in my country and they wrote back to me.
Maureen had been in Inida doing volunteer work and was from US. She wanted to meet me and share recovery and so we did. I can remember the thrill of that day= the sun was nice and bright,I interviewed her for a mag. i was writing for and then we did a lunch date. A simple event it was,,but i remember how I was feeling. There i was a shy, awkward Inidan with a go gettng woman form the West. And we were in a recovery meeting, just the two of us,in a restaraunt, sharing feelings most of all. We shared recovery and gave each other hugs and split,,never to see each other again, though I did write few and got a few from her in return. That was another instance of the magic of the Fellowship,,that I an isolated addict, desiring to stay clean could find recovery even in that circumstance.
This day im more Blessed than ever= we have internet to connect with each other all over the world,I have lots ogf meetings now in my hometown. And as I live and study and work here in England now,Im amazed at how it still works. Each day new things are revealed to me thru the NA 12 Step Program. Im in the process of finishing my first semester. and then a short holiday at home and back to study.
Im so eager to see my NA baby daughter, allof 13 ,in India. I have missed her these past four months but we agreed it was ok I do this. She eased my concerns when she said "You know daddy, you are an inspiration to me" Im able to live a free and easy life because I have yall to share with. Back inIndia the Fellowship has grown due to the dedication of members who have invested a lot of time ,money and effort to carry the message of hope.
And at this point in time Im greatful that I have had Miracles in Progress to share in for a few years now and have developed good relationships with many here.. I make live meetings here as often as I can but this is a wonderful space to be in. And please remember,,,there are no strangers here, only friends who havent met yet !!!
Keep coming back,it works, you are worth it so work it,,hehhehhe....
