here to say that i am still clean and sober, coming up on 2 years pretty soon Dec 28th. As well as 6 months from smoking on dec 16.
i went back to school and am doing amazingly well. my marks are in the 90's. i always thought i sucked at math... was truly convinced.. now to see that i 'm actually good at it once i take the obsession of when the next smoke break is... where the boys are..wheres the next party, what are people thinkin of me.. and when do i get to get high next or holy crap am i hung over... i can actually focus on my school work :)
i want to say though that coming up on this 2 year thing has me a tad frazzled, i have had one year a couple of times but never 2 years all together. fear of success thing?? i don't know, and to try to stay remembering that its this moment that counts not the failures or even the successes, one at a time .
Christmas is also a tough time for me, that want to stick my head in the sand thing til its all over..tough time of year for me not to get stuck in the past. So i will be stickin close by if you don't mind:)
so welcome to the newcomers you are so, so important!
Thanks for sharing your successes with us Wendy. Congratulations on school and especially on not smoking. Great job!! I've heard someone say, "Welcome to Narcotics Anonymous, a program of total abstinence from all mind altering, mood changing substances except caffeine, nicotine, and sugar!" (it's just a joke, guys, don't start!!) Great to hear from you again Wendy!!
