Any Recovery in Boston?

Hey Family,

i haven't been around in awhile. i posted a few months ago about being confused and wanting to find a new sponsor. and its sort of mixed news since i ended up drinking, but now i have 4 months and a new sponsor who i'm working really well with. but i guess the real question i have is that i'm going to Boston in early november and i was wondering if anyone knew of any good meetings i should check out while i'm up there. i'm going to be in brighton/brookline if that helps any locationwise. though apparently the mass transit is really good up there unlike where i live now (miami). so yeah. thanks in advance.

Hey Maddock,
I've never been to meetings in Boston but any metro area will be loaded with good meetings. A call to the local AA Na intergroup offices will yield results and someone to meet or a ride. Don't let your ego keep you from accepting an offer of a ride to a meeting, you'll be denying someone an opportunity to do some service work. smile.gif

I live just south of Boston and there are tons of good meetings in the city and the suburbs as well. Lots of strong recovery. You can search for meetings at NA.org and yes, the public transportation (we call it the T) is fabulous. If you head down to the south shore, let me know. I'd be happy to take you to a meeting or meet you there. Enjoy your visit.

I dunno,  the rays handled the sux all season (along with the nyy) and won the division.  There's no evidence that that will change tonight or the next couple nights if it comes to that.  I'm probably going to the game tonight.  I'll be that guy streaking accross the field, right after we win  biggrin

you know the Sox have come back from worse situations

See ALCS 2005 down 3-0 to the new york yankees.
Regardless if the rays win they will have deserved it. They have been incredible all year.

What i don't understand is we beat the best team in the leageau (Angels) but wee are struggling with the Rays.

Ow well we'll see tonight

unbelievable, balfour killed us by serving up the fat one to pappi.  Oh well the Rays will have the benefit of home field and batting last for the next two.  We'll see.

I'm getting tickets today for Saturday night.  biggrin

Thanks Anthony.  I moved to St. Pete in '92.  Right after I got here there was serious talk of the SF Giants being sold to a group in St. Pete.  I put down deposits for season tickets, but at the last minute the deal fell through.  We were asked to let the investment group hold the money while they petitioned the MLB for an expansion team.   Soon after that we got the D-Rays and I had season tickets.  Did that for a couple years along with the  Lightning Hockey tickets (who also played at the Trop, which was called the "thunder dome" at that time).  No doubt I (and lots of others) lost interest in the Rays as they had terrible management.
Well 15 years later we've got a real ball club, and a real hockey team.  I'll never be a Bucs fan though.

Hey Scott ( sorry for hijcking this a bit disingenuslad ) you see what Anthony wrote below and how long it took to put some time together well it was no different for me, it took me a LONG time to get anything like 9 month even put together and iot was always shaky.

It wasn't until I let go of ALL reservations that I could continue to use successfully ,  I let go of old resentments and lies and I wanted to be clean more then i wanted to be high. That took a lot of different bottoms and one major bottom . Yet I still had trouble and still stumble but i just don't use today over anything.

Whats anything? frustration and discontent, I dont use.

Fear and loss, I dont use.

resentment and anger, I dont use.

Obsession and compulsions feed off of our negativity that when it would kick in for me I would seek escape from my reality and want to use today I use the program and spirituual principles and I dont GO THERE or get that far into delusional thinking, (wishing it could be different) and wanting to change everything. I dont have the power to change a lot of things in life and I have no peace unless I accept life on lifes terms.

Anyhow done preaching sorry LOL I don't know what all your troubles are with that lead you to relapse but those issues are the ones you need to focus on work the steps on and talk about and get to the root of those troubles and do it honestly, thats just a suggestionwink.

Cambridge, MA - Never Alone Group - Wednesday, 6:00PM - O S D Ns - Episcopal Divinity School (Sherrill Hall, room 1B) 99 Brattle Street, If you take the Redline (subway) to the Harvard Square stop it's a short walk from there.. it's a really mellow small group, unless it's changed since i last went..

anger/resentments/depression..etc.. those become a reason to use if i feel them long enough without talking, lack of honest open communication is what i've identified as my biggest problem/reservation i guess, i've been working on that with my sponsor
