I was at an anniversary the other night and someone gave the celebrant a silver dollar with a hole drilled in it for each year clean. He said that before NA had coins that this is what was done. I think he may have said it was in Florida. Has anyone heard of this before?
yes my homegroup (in Florida) does this. I have one and it's a 1932? I asked the guy that drilled it for me (it took him awhile lol ) where he got the old coins and he said from the bank.
years ago when i was a kid and went to meets with my uncle that is what they did ithink that is where the coin idea came from you could probabl find out after a little research though

You know, it was the only time that I'd seen a group do that, and it's my AA home group. I thought it was some kind of original idea. Thanks for the info, I'll ask.
