a family struggle

I've been clean for 17 months, doing great myself but struggling a little bit with my family.  My brother who is 2 years older than i am used with me, i got clean and he did not.  Today i'm not forsure if he is just drinking or if there is other drugs involved.  But he treats my parents and i like crap.  He has 2 children, today actually is his youngest 1st birthday.  His girlfriend and him had a break up, she won't allow our family to see their little girl.  My brother doesn't even give us hope that we will ever get to see my niece, he tells my parents stuff such as it is a privilage to be grandparents not a right!  We have done nothing wrong, this little girl is walking and talking and doesn't know our side of the family.  I just don't know how to react

You are powerless over his addiction to drugs and/or alcohol, and they have made your life unmanageable. There's little you can do to fix the situation, I'd just be a positive example and pray for him....
