new to na online


so much to write--i'm detoxing off benzos--got thru the worst of it cold turkey,5 days.still a little weak,a little sick.i'm angry at myself.i should know better.i suffer from depression/anxiety and it only made it worse.but,i'm back on track again,trying to connect,trying to reach out.i cannot do this alone.i need help.cry

I know what you're going through I went through it as well. One thing that I've learned through it all is that drugs promise you heaven but lead you to suffering. The best thing to do is try and find something to keep your mind occupied, drink a lot of soda, red bull, something like that to try and keep the withdrawal at bay, and if you smoke, don't stop.

Many of us suffer from the same issues, even if our drug of choice varies. May I suggest you find some meetings in your area, and attend them on a regular basis. The rewards from the process of recovery is well worth the effort!

Hi Luvdogs

I am well aware of what you are going through. I was there too. The benzo's are terrible to come off of but I commend you for the cold turkey. I found that reading a lot of NA literature helped for the most part. It took me about 6wks to begin "feeling" again. I wish you well and please remember that you deserve only the best that life has to offer. This programs gives you your sanity back....Good luck
