Lifes changes..

sup..all,

Well i'm Tony,

been without drugs for about 3 weeks now and yes i'm a addict, i'm 45, i weld for a living ( when i can find work ), that and u can tell by my name w/ the tags Chum i'm a gamer. I live in the North country of Michigan i have only one meeting area in White Cloud. Gas is expensive so i try to conserver the money i have between work, food, roof over my head. I am trying to expand my meetings to different areas, so i guess the money i used  for drugs is now be invested in my life of being sober.

I've spent time around N.A in my past but really never took it seriously, friend of mine gave me a book a few weeks ago ( The Alchemist ) it hit me pretty much between the eyes, being apart of My Higher Power is missing in my life, that and living on the steets isnt what i want.

Well this is a smig of my life,

Peace

Welcome home Chum smile.gif glad you're here with us.

Yeah, I haven't met one yet who had read alchemist and nothing changed in their life still smile.gif it's an awesome book, many of the principles in this book are exactly like the first three steps of NA, at least that's how I exactly felt when I read it. I had this book forawhile but read it only after cleaning up my act. I was using this book as a drug paraphernalia while using... lol...

Hi Chum, welcome. I've got about a week and a half clean myself (this time around). Who wrote The Alchemist? I looked it up but wanted to make sure I was ordering the right one before I got it- is it the one by Paulo Coelho? Since you and Tahir seem to hold it in such high regard I'd like to check it out. I could use a little inspirational reading
