Am I selling myself short ?

sometimes i get a sneaky feeling that I charge clients much lesser than what I deserve !
then again i remember that theres competition to consider too,, so im doing the right thing !
all in all my recovery journeys been good,,, i have had people for all walks of life show me kindness,,and ive learnt to show good feelings too !!
most of all in music the pricing is very difficult because what I percieve and what the market sees as me maybe at variance !!
No matter what im not able to figure this out in black and white,,even after earning a post graduate in management !!

That is hard to say. I would say let the market dictate. Raise your prices when you are doing more work than you want to.

Raman as you might know I am venturing out in business myself.

I Know I am selling myself short how about that ashamed but it gets me work work that adds to my portfolio and also gets my name out .

But once I get more work coming in on a regular basis you can bet my prices will rise especially since I will have to hire employess, pay more tax's, pay for the required insurance on those employees ( workers comp), overhead will probably eat up 65-70% of my gross.

And thats why I am hoping to stay small, 1-3 man team the most I have had hired for a job at one time was 5 guys and I still made a fair amount of money but I way under bid the job should have gotten double what I charged.

Jason is absolutely correct, and I hope you find yourself in a position of being able to set your own price that feels good.

Supply and demand dictates pricing but so does skill and experience dont ever give yourself away especially after the time you've dedicated to your profession I no longer do what I like to call " charity work " though friends and family get a special deal of course.

P.s
I still do charity i just talked with the Alano club maintenance man and have offered to give them a whole bunch of paint so they can continue sprucing up the club for AA and NA members

P.s.s

If I can't sleep at night because of a bad feeling inside over a job wether it be I didn't do a good enough job, left something out I should have done or didn't feel I was compensated enough I make sure on the next one that all changes so I can rest at ease.

yes Vini,, its the demand and supply equeation !!
Moreover in a moments inspiraion and insight I used a word from the Traditions=ATTRACTION !!
I believe that if my marketing policy is based on attraction rather than promotion my prices increase !!
I sell myself short whenever i push my wares !!!
