This program of ours is diverse and all inclusive. But I sometimes wonder if there is one piece that stands above all others if the addict is to have the best shot at recovery. I'm not sure if there is "one" piece that reigns supreme, but it seems to me that without a sincere and daily relationship with our higher power that sooner or later we will relapse. thoughts?
Its probably not the same for everyone the most important thing for me is to live spiritualy, the use of spirituality in every aspect of my life is the cornerstone that holds me together.

In my personal recovery, each day provides an opportunity to apply a tool or tools from my recovery tool box. One day being powerless might be the most important tool I have. Another day, making meetings. The next, talking to my sponsor. Reading literature. "Just don't pick up." Service. Humility. Meditating. Reaching out to a newcomer. Step 3 - turning my life and my will over. Faith. The First Tradition. Surrender. Etc., etc.
I just can't say that one tool is the most important at all times. Different days and different situations call for the application of different tools. I like it this way, though, as I keep them all well-honed and ready for use.
to stay clean i need to be serene and to be serene I need to be clean in the head and to be clean in the head I need to do things that are clean and serene !! Staying Clean and serene is the most important thing and being serene actions will vary !!
