thanks so much, i thank my higher power, NA and you!!!

i don't often post but i do visit every single morning to follow along
i bought myself gifts at our weekly NA meeting ( i live in a smaller retirement city)
last night...a teeny tiny version of the 'Just for Today' and the NA step working guide. Its my first time working with the guide and i will be doing it with my sponsor. I refuse to give my dis-ease any room to work so i'm doing whatever it takes to stay clean today. I honestly believe this is my 'last call' for recovery. my life is too good and i owe it all to recovery. my sponsor and i are going to the big city for dinner tomorrow to celebrate then in 2 weeks i get to celebrate my belly button birthday with my girls. I have only been clean and sober for a couple of birthdays since i first stepped into recovery and today i look forward to it unlike the past when i felt uncomfortable.i currently work three different jobs and at my meeting last night one of the residents from our youth group home was at the meeting so i chose this morning when i got to work to come clean with my boss and tell her i am an addict. i have had to do this a couple of times now and honestly i have no shame today to say so. Her response was "people change and people grow..my mom did" i'm happy to not have to keep secrets today. Recovery has graced me with more self esteem than i have ever known not to mention hope and faith in my future as a responsible member of my family and society. To date i am the only clean and sober member of my family and am p-raying that my sister follows. We had a convo on msn this morning gave me another glimpse of how my higher power works through others and wants a better life for her. Today i pray for our addicts in and out of the program. May someone find their way to recovery today and find the happiness and serentiy that i find growing every day that i don't pick up. Also blessings and continued recovery to YOU!

When they ask at the end of the meeting if there are any announcements I reply...

DON'T DO DRUGS!!!!

love and hugs in recovery
Wendy
