SO whats the solution?

The twelve steps are a solution- our defects are removed.

We put spiritual living first and learn to use patience, tolerance and humility in our daily affairs.

Honesty, open-mindedness and willingness "HOW"- This might mean taking a daily inventory

We rid ourselves of self obsession- our personalities change.

From the isolation of our addiction, we find a fellowship of people with the common bond of recovery. N.A. is like a lifeboat in a sea of isolation, hopelessness and destructive chaos. Our faith, strength and hope come from people sharing their recovery and from our relationship with the God of our own understanding.

You can read about it all right here

On a personal note, today I have a problem this is one of those problems that repeats itself over and over again thru the years and thru relationships with others and i'm looking for the solution.

Why do I need a solution? because the way I react to certain stress's and situations is often to explode , fear and frustration overtake my thoughts and actions and I am sick and tired of being ruled by emotions and feelings and unrealistic expectations of myself and of others, that is a recipe for disaster, I know disaster all to well.

So I take another course of action and learn to do things and handle them differently hoping for different results that i've had before.

It does work it takes work it takes practice but don't we have plenty of opportunitys to practice? I know that I do, everyday.

Tell yourself:

JUST FOR TODAYmy thoughts will be on my recovery, living
and enjoying life without the use of drugs.

JUST FOR TODAY I will have faith in someone in N.A. who
believes in me and wants to help me in my recovery.

JUST FOR TODAY I will have a program. I will try to follow it
to the best of my ability.

JUST FOR TODAY through N.A. I will try to get a better
perspective on my life.

JUST FOR TODAY I will be unafraid, my thoughts will be on my new associations, people who are not using and who have found a new way of life. So long as I follow that way, I have nothing to fear.

Hey there BigV,

thanks for posting your messages, they help me. I hope that whatever you are going through subsides quickly. I too sometimes react instinctively with fear, and frustration, especially when I am under stress. Seems like you are choosing a wise course when dealing with life on life's terms. I too will take your advice and take the opportunity to practice what is being taught.

((((hugs))))

Karl

Hey Vini thanks for the post, I found that when I stopped thinking I could determine the out come of situations my life got a whole lot easier. Yes we try a better way of dealing with things expecting a better out come , but what if we just accepted the out come for what it is. No more beating our heads against the wall and repeating but I did it the right way this time why???
I have had a new revaluation since working step 7, it's like I finally realised I'm not in control god is. Therefor the outcome is not up to me , I just have to do my part and learn to live with the results.
This realization has freed me from so much pain and confusion. I know you will find your way through this trying time cause you always do!
love ya
Sandra

I almost made it there the other day Sandra but reverted to my own best thinking which got me the same results.

I can't explain it but I knew I was close to something and instead I intervened and did My will, I screwed up , maybe next time there will be plenty of next times.

It's  willingness that takes practice ( does that make sense?) Karl if we keep the willingness there forefront we can do this.
