Daily Topic From "The Book"

Hello Everyone,

My name is Erin and I am an addict.  I began my recovery 65 days ago and I am starting a daily discussion thread on readings from "The Book".  Each day I will post a topic based on my daily readings and encourage you all to share and discuss the topic of the day.  I think this will be inspirational reading for all of us and I look forward to sharing with and speaking with you.  Please feel free to share!

Regards,
Erin

RE: Daily Topic From "The Book"

Hmmm, I'm ready lets get started...........
Ok I'll start;
Tonight at my home group we read step 1 out of it works how and why. Has everyone read that book ? It really gives the inside scoop on the steps for me. The thing that stood out for me tonight was that even after long periods of clean time we can become obsessed and compulsive about things other than drugs. That is so relevant for me today because that's what I have been doing with this buying a new house idea of mine. I think recognizing what I am doing is the key, once I acknowledge that I'm obsessing I am able to control it or should I say catch myself before I get to deep. Awarness is key for me in this program I cant change anything if I dont acknowledge it.
