Tonight was my sponsors 13 year medalion, what an amazing night. She has truly showen me that we can get through anything clean. This year has been realy hard for her, she suffers from horable pain everyday, she can no longer work , she has run out of money and has no idea when her CPP will start or if she even qualifyes for it.
I can relate to her for my story is the same, physical pain and disabilities change not only what you can do but who you are as a person. Through the surgeries and depression she has suffered this year she has still been an amazing help to me and 3 other women she sponsors. She has still kept all her service commitments. She still finds a way to laugh.
Many times she has felt that she is of no help because of the state of mind she is in , often wanting to through her hands in the air and say f@#* it.But she hasnt, she is such an amazing strong women. I am so proud of her. I am so greatfull for all she has taught me through her actions.
Congratulations Ronda L, for being a wonderfull example of how it works!
The JFT Topic couple of days back shook me to reality and prompted me to mail my Sponsor immediately. I realized how much his presence in my life, especially in the last one year, has saved me from some serious crises and was filled with gratitude for my Sponsor's guidance and direction. So blessed to be part of NA as I get to have a Spiritual Guide here, with whose clear directions, recovery becomes so simple and clear for this complicated head
Delighted to receive a prompt reply from him today. He wants me to go thru the journey of the Fourth Step now as I feel too caught up with so many things in life currently and feeling that recovery has become too demanding lately... Time for some serious introspection into my assets and liabilities I guess... I'm excited, inspite of my dis-ease
