If you haven't already seen it, at the very top of this message board is a post (***Christmas Request***), asking that members of Miracles In Progress send Christmas cards to the 12 men living in the Miracles In Progress Recovery House.
The response I have gotten from so many is absolutely amazing! In just the last 3 days, the men have gotten at least 15 Christmas cards each, from all over the US, even a few other places. They are so delighted, with eagerness they open each card and read it in a way that shows they are holding onto each word within them.
One of the men was still in detox when I initially posted this request, but I knew he'd be coming to the recovery house. You folks should have seen his face when he got out of detox 3 days ago, entered the Recovery House was handed some mail.... 6 Christmas cards. His eyes watered up and his voice cracked as he read them out loud to those standing by him.
These men are surely learning through this experience, that Miracles In Progress is a global family of love, care, support and understanding. They are not alone on this journey called recovery.
If you have not sent a card yet and would like to, or haven't yet heard of this undertaking but would like to participate in it, please do. Something as simple as a Christmas card in these mens hands, what it does to their faces and hearts, would make you think they are holding a block of Gold.
