Hi Magie, welcome to Miracles In Progress Group of NA. And congrats on so many miraculous hours clean. Every recovery, no matter how strong and long it is, starts with one clean hour, as BigV said.

Jenny, so happy for you on your 13 days clean. You rock. Way to go. Glad we have you here with us. Gives me lots of strength and hope that this program works. You are a proof.

Walk in the Light with your Higher Power,

Hugs, Love, Light ~ Tahir.

Magie, how is it been lately? Remember, as long as we are trying, we are NOT FAILING! Together we can do what we cannot do alone. Love you and need you. Hugs and Love.

Welcom Home Maggie;

Tahir....I hate to beg to differ.  My father-in-law always say to try is to fail.  And, what he meant was this.  When you try to do something you are not putting in 110%.  We did not try to smoke, shoot or snort dope did we.  We did it.  So, we have to work on our recovery not try to work on it.  There is no trying about this.  We have to continously work on this.  Even when there are the ups and downs of life.  Sorry, I hate the word try in the dictionary it means to conduct a trial or put to the test.

There is no trial here.  This is not a trial offer of colagate.  This is life and learning to live it on its terms without picking up.  No matter what.  Then it says to make an effort at. Making an effort is good.  However working the program is better.  Definition of working;  Bringing to pass, create by expending labor up, bring or get into a form or condition, produce desired effect.  To have continued clean time which is the desired effect we have to get ourself into condition by using the steps, reading the literature, going to meeting and working with a sponsor.  Maggie Good Luck walk in the program not just talk about it.  God Bless.

I guess it depends on how each of us look at it. And I agree that you are right in your  perspective. And since our perspectives differ here, I guess we can agree to disagree. But thanks for sharing your perspective with me, Melissa. I appreciate that as I get to open my mind to different perspectives this way, by stepping back from myself and by stepping in the others' shoes, and to look from there to see what they see, and to realize that their reality is as real as mine too.

Hugs, Love, Light ~ Tahir.

It's okay to disagree, I appreciate your input as well.  This is what recovery is.  Helping each other out as we see things occur in our lives.  Because, we take what we need and toss the rest.  Sometimes I know I have a strange way of looking at things.  However, I hope apart of what I say will help the next addict.  I am in the process of closing out another book.  Which is based on poetry that I have written since I started in recovery.  And, I have gotten good reviews from those I have read my stuff to.  This is my goal is to pass what I know and I pray that even just one word will touch someone and help keep them clean for one day.  God Bless all of your thru the rest of the holidays

Melissa

All the best with your book writing, Melissa. So true. If I could make a difference to at least one another person by sharing our experience, strength and hope with others, I guess my suffering while using and my life as a whole is worth it.

Reading about your writing endeavors is very motivating as I aspire to write a book too, about my own experiences as a being, one day
