NA Retreat

Hi friends I cant contain my excitment so I had to share with you all. This weekend is the Toronto area NA womens retreat, I am so looking forward to it.Just me and 34 women in recovery, no kids, no phones , no house work , no cooking YEAH! Retreats are such a great experiance, I'm so greatfull to be a part of them. There a place where I can reboot spiritualy and share with other ladies that are not in my area and I dont otherwise get to meet. I tend to get in a rut of going to the same meetings all the time, I enjoy those meetings but it's so nice to see new faces and get fresh views on my issues. I learn something valuable every time I go . Thanks for letting me share.

WECAN, I know what you are talking about. But sadly there's not that much of retreats happening here in NA in my part of the world as yet... sounds very exciting and interesting... hope it starts happenin' here too, one more miracles of NA... I would love to go on such NA spiritual retreats... You have a great time, WECAN. Lookin' forward to hear more of your experience of the retreat when you come back...

Tahir.

it is.

her son went on our sponsorship campout.

they are good freinds.we all went to that week long campout.

i enjoyed our campout(sponsorship thing),because it was spiritualy practical.

i believe that these retreats should be free or next to free.

if it isnt spiritual it isnt pracical.when i got clean most retreats were done thru sponsorship.greg payed the 15 bucks for my first one.

it was awesome the way we used the traditions.all paid equall amounts.we all did cooking and cleaning.they were based on unity.not finances.

it was about what can we do to help the hurting newcomer or oldtimer.those days were awesome.i still have to think of unity.that is what our campout was about.

Thanks for sharing about your campout experiences, Dalin. I agree with you. This finance part has a real ability to screw our addictive heads sometimes... lol...

Thanks Tahir for asking about the retreat. I had a wonderfull time conected with some amazing ladies. The NA retreats I go on are only $150 for the weekend I dont find that expencive because for women its about retreating! No dishes no cooking no kids, to just go and relax in a spiritual setting is such a treat for most women that have to run a house hold daily. It's a break like a mini vacation. Also being a member of the retreat committie I know that we are doing our best to keep the costs down , what some people dont understand is that these things have to be insured and be accepted by the members in order to happen. We do our best to keep the costs down and there is no profit, just most people dont concider it a retreat if they have to cook and clean for themselfs. The Toronto area has about 5 retreats a year and we never have a problem selling enough beds, theres always a huge waiting list for the womens retreats. I think the best way to have this available in your area is to just start it, if people are intrested they will come. Who knowes maybe a new chalange for you Tahir??

Do I hear my Higher Power saying something to me? Yeah, maybe I propose this at the ASC and see how it goes...

Thank you for sharing about your spiritual retreat experience, Sandra.  Hope that one day, these retreats will also be part of my recovery...

Hugs, Love, Light ~ Tahir.
