Making rational decisions

For the past three weeks or so I have had a decision to make.  My sponsor reminds me that if I go to meetings, if I do my step work and if I commit to service work then I had a good chance of staying clean. I believe her, I have yet to not follow her suggestios and she has not let me down.

Joining a home group is a form of service work in that you help that group prepare for meetings. Therefore I have made a rational decisison. I am amazed with the decision I have made because I made that decision myself. I am not very self confident, I usually require someone to confirm my thoughts, decisions or actions. I was an active addict on a daily basis, but the weekends were bigger for me because more people, weekends brought more people. I have decided to join the home group that takes place on Friday nights. This way I have a commitment every Friday night. I go to meetings every night anyway but if I eventually cut back then at least I know I have a responsibilty to my group.

Anyways just thought I let you know my thoughts for today, so as always I wish you all a good 24.

Hi Sheila !!!

thers a wonderful pamphlet called

"one addicts experience with acceptance ,faith and commitment"

As an addict,, my  basic impulse is to gather resentment,anger and fear !!!

The only way to recover from that is to go towards

acceptance= 12 steps=replacing resentment

Faith=12 Traditions=replacing fear

Commitment=12 Concepts=replacing anger and hate !!

thats been my experience too !!

Also my experience that thers no immediate permanent change,,,,that comes over a period of time as i learn to replace each time anger,resentment and fear come up again !!!

Im going thru a relatively serene phase and am really greatful for it !!!

Thanks Raman, You give quite  good advice and opinions. That is why I love and am so grateful of this website. I am a faithful user of it since I discovered it. And about that guy was complaining about thanks as well for that advice. Not sure if I am ready to confront though, but I will sure think about it, perhaps I will ask another member be present with me, I will let you know how it goes. Thannks again and have a good 24.
