I don't believe there is a meeting tonight, but I will be hanging out in the NA meeting chat room if anyone feels like chatting or needs someone to talk to. I will try to be around untill midnight eastern time.
Oh by the way I'm new here to this community. My name is Marek and I am an addict. Looking forward to becoming part of the family here :o) I hope I can help bring hope and inspiration as other people have brought it to me.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I didn't particularly need to chat to anyone, I was just hanging out in the chat room incase anyone else felt that they needed to share something. There was one or two people that dropped in and shared then left. Just my way of giving back to the community which has already given so much to me.
Anyone know if there are any plans for a meeting today, Friday, during the evening?? It would be much appreciated if someone could chair one as there is only an AA meeting in my area tonight and they like to keep it seperate from NA (they get all upset when they see people come to the meeting with their NA books)
LOL... I can relate with that, Marek. In my ex-town, whenever I went to AA (where I actually started with in my early recovery), as soon as they would see me, they would come and whisper in my ear, "it's ok if you share, but please identify yourself as an alcoholic... and please don't mention all that stuff about needles and drugs..."
But today, I understand how much important and what an atmosphere of identification means to a recovery meeting and for newcomers and all of us, be it AA or NA... Still, thinkin' of those days, I cannot help laughing about how some of those AAs get disturbed by our mere presence at their meetings... Even though many among them always came forward and welcomed me, treating me no different from anybody else... I'm truly grateful for their guidance then... You know what, I got my first copy of Basic Text and many NA IPs at one such AA meeting from an AA member, and was suggested by him to try out these NA meetings also, apart from making AA meetings... that was a wonderful gesture, and a caring way to guide me to NA in those turbulent times of my on-and-off fledgling recovery...

hi glad you are here also and glad i am here so I guess you can go int he chat room at any time and hang out I never knew that. I will probably be there later as I will miss my home group. I have some tests so valid reason but still will feel scared and disconnected. Hope to see you there say 9pm Toronto time not sure where you are
