I just got done reading many of the post on this board and enjoyed them greatly. However, as the sites webmaster/founder I deleted one whole thread entitled, "Cult". I felt the thread was an absolute determent to any newcomer viewing it. Several of the replies to the post were very strong NA, and was a excellent example of recovery in action. However, the original posting party took to attacking other members of the board by starting out their last post with the words "F... You, <name omitted>!"
This program is about growing up spiritually, mentally, emotionally. Adopting mature, responsible, and healthy living skills which is likely to benefit us socially, relationally, and possibly even materially. Of course we have to stop using any narcotics for any of the above to become possible. We are trying to learn how to do the "Adult Swim" and cannot do this while under the influence of any mind or mood altering chemicals.
We are not here to stay "Sick, Irresponsible, and immature". In every NA meeting we read "We Do Recover". We are also encouraged to share our "experience, strength, and hope" for the benefit of others. We are told, "we can't keep it if we don't share it". "It" is recovery, freedom from active addiction, peace and serenity.
If its "sick" someone wants to keep, I invite them to share it else where. If its recovery, I strongly support their sharing it here.
When I deleted that thread I wasn't taking anyone's inventory, I was merely reading what they themselves were advertising. In my humble opinion, it truly appeared to be a case of someone deliberately vomiting on our recovery table, in an attempt to keep the rest of us sick right along with them.
Should there be any further attacks on any individual or group of individuals, the attacking party will be banned from utilizing this board.
