If you go visit the NA group page at http://www.12stepforums.net/na/index.html you will see a navigation menu across the top of the page, click on Group Info and there we have a schedule and links into the room, to the message board, etc.


The current listed schedule that is showing is...


Every Wednesday Night!


9:00 P.M. Eastern


8:00 P.M. Central


7:00 P.M. Mountain


6:00 P.M. Pacific


and


Every Saturday Night!


9:00 P.M. Eastern


8:00 P.M. Central


7:00 P.M. Mountain


6:00 P.M. Pacfic


Now, if for some reason, we can't get these meetings started and chaired as scheduled, and you are willing to chair a meeting on a different night instead, we can change the meeting schedule to accommidate the need.  My experience with day time meetings is that they don't get very good support and those that do support them are usually neglecting something they need to be doing in order to be online all day... (nahhh, addicts wouldn't do that would they??? )


Alot of us are notical beings... night owls... so late night meetings tend to get alot of support... between 10pm and 12am... we are all looking for something to do to be involved in ... out of habit.. so, instead of trying to hit the road and get to the spot, we in recovery tend to travel the net during these restless hours... (well, I did in early recovery LOL)


To chair a meeting where all you need to do is press a button on your mouse a few times we use a program called mIRC, with a few add-on's called txplay and the meeting reading scripts.... this automatically scrolls the meeting readings into the room, one line at a time; so you don't have to sit there and try to type it all out by hand.


To get mIRC, and txplay go to http://www.12stepforums.net/mirc.html


Follow the directions on that page to a "T" and while it may take you a bit of time to get set up, once you are done, it won't take you any time at all to chair a meeting.


Let's start there... get mIRC installed on your computers, and the txplay60.mrc file placed in your main mIRC directory.  txplay60 comes as a .zip file so you have to use winzip or another program to unzip it and place the txplay60.mrc file in the mIRC directory on your computer.  Next, on the page linked to above is the naopening and naclosing scripts, download them and place them in your main mIRC directory as well. 


Do this and then we will all meet in the meeting room to set you up, to run those scripts with your mouse real easy, and discuss the meeting schedule and get the meetings chaired.. then we will notify all NA members who are registered on the message board (via email and on the board) so they can attend the meetings and not be entering a empty room any longer.


Chairpersons and room monitors will enter the room using mIRC... regular group members can enter it using mIRC or using the java chat entrance attached to the web site.

Okay, let's work now and get set up... this is where the rubber meets the road in the process of becoming a chairperson for our group.

noontime meetings for us is 9 in india,and we have 2 members there exited about this deal...worldwide fellowship.


i can do the 900 meeting.

Thank you, John, for the instructions. Even though I can't understand all of it, I'm sure if I could follow your instructions, one at a time, it would unfold to me how it works. So I'll try execute the instructions and see how it goes.


I can so relate with you that we are night creatures mostly. Since, I happen to be online thru out the night till 4 AM in the morning or sometimes even till 5 AM and beyond as I work online at nights, I don't think I would have a difficult time making these meetings. But these 9 PM EST meetings fall at 6:30 AM here in my country's time, and that would be the time I have just gone into deep sleep.


Anyways, since online meetings are universal, and as such serve all members across the world, the attraction of a 9 PM Meeting would be more as you also think and would cover a larger addict base I guess.


But I think, a 12 noon meeting or even a 8 AM or 10 AM meeting on Sundays would be an attraction, as I have witnessed at other online meetings that I make. Many people attend this daytime meetings on Sundays. So would be nice if we can have one daytime meeting in a week, on a Sunday.


Grateful to have found MIP Group, and lookin' forward to make recovery meetings here. Will surely try to give back too what I so freely receive from all of you.

like i have shared,i can volunteir to do a noon meeting,if you can say when it would be best tahir.see what you can come up with,what day and we will get it going.


 i think its us needing to be flexable for everyone involved.


so let me know your thoughts and we can give it a try at least
